Safety Boat & Tractor shed

In 2001 the Sailing Club decided to build a boat shed in the club yard to house the 2nd RIB. This was constructed by Colin Wainwright and Stewart Page.
Since then the shed has served the club well.
In 2021 a small 4×4 Tractor was bought by PSC to make the journey up the steep slipway easier for the weary sailors.
It was decided by the committee that we had to have it under cover and so the new Boat & Tractor shed idea was conceived.
Once the old shed was dismantled, over the winter of 2021 / 2022 a double size shed / garage was built by a team of four club members.
Steve Wingrove, the club Works Manager, was assisted by Andrew Kendal, Peter Barnes, and Tony Dunn.
They built a wooden frame which was clad in pale grey corrugated sheet metal. Two up and over doors were bought and fitted, these were of a dark grey colour that contrasted well with the cladding.
The club now has a secure building for both the RIB and tractor.

Thanks to all that got involved in this very worthwhile project.

Some photo’s were taken during the build showing what was involved.

Report by Tony Dunn.
