Iconic PSC Polkerris Mid Summer sail

We are a sailing club – we know we have to work with the wind – turns out we are also very good at socialising when there is no wind as well😊

Having postponed a Friday night fun sail due to no wind and no vis, plans were made for a fun sail on the following Tuesday night with a forecasted NW 9 to 17 mph.

With diaries amended, the weather apps got their fair share of traffic with the PSC lot monitoring the wind models. Where’s it coming from, how much of its is coming, can we see it coming? And what did we get? 1 knot southerly – well we know how to work with that!

2 Ribs lined up at 6.30 on the beach, with two late comers running down just in time (yours truly) and powered their way across the bay to beautiful Polkerris for an appointment at the Rashleigh. You will see from the photos, we set up in a beautiful spot where we could chat, laugh and watch the sun go down. NO! Not falling for that one again, we got back before the sun went down. There were swims at Polkerris and swims at Porthpean, some great food, some confusion about food. Sarah Rendell did you eat someone else’s dinner? 😉 Clare R did you eat meat? – maybe 😱… Andrew K – we were all happy your fish was ok 🤭

Jo and Simon went up a level with their return to the west of the bay and sailed their own boat back home to Mevagissey. We have some photos of them literally sailing off into the sunset🌇

And the mid-summer sail wouldn’t be a mid-summer sail without some pictures of Janet P and the sun going down. Long may that continue 😘
