Charity afternoon tea fundraiser
On Saturday August 15th PSC held its annual afternoon tea, this year raising funds for 2 very worthy charities; Teens Unite Fighting Cancer and Cornwall Hospice.
A beautiful sunny August Saturday guaranteed us a full house from start to finish.
The cakes and bakes came flooding in and were arrayed in the galley ready for the crowds.
This year some of our extremely talented members displayed some of their beautiful handiwork.
Jan Barnes and Jenny Kendall with their lovely paintings, cards and gift items, Lynn Dunn with her gorgeous knitwear, Emma Bray with her stunning pottery and Kym Robinson with her wonderful resin giftware.
Each of them kindly donated a percentage of their sales to the charities.
The galley was kept busy throughout with hungry and thirsty visitors paying £5 a head to be served their cuppa and cake.
Several customers came back for more and some browsed the book stall or chatted happily to new and old friends whilst enjoying the sun on the decking or enjoying the shade of the clubhouse.
As ever, these events aren’t possible without our willing team of helpers and I’d love to thank each and every one of you who made this years Afternoon Tea such an enjoyable and fruitful one.
The total raised by the event was £615 which was split between Teens Unite Fighting Cancer and Cornwall Hospice and both charities were absolutely delighted!
Thank you everyone 🤩
