Beetle Drive

On Saturday night, members, family and friends gathered for a lively evening of chilli and jacket potato,  games, and camaraderie! 

Two hearty warming  chillies had been prepared by Simon and Pete Barnes with accompaniments by John Hancock. Our plates were filled and much appreciation of the delicious food was felt around the room. 

Afterwards, the fun commenced with the eagerly anticipated Beetle Drive. Groups of 4 rolled their dice and each player tried to draw their Beetle first. After each winner had shouted “Beetle”, the winners and losers moved tables providing much amusement, additional socialising and some confusion!

After rounds of laughter and rolling dice, Jo emerged as the Beetle Drive champion, earning herself a box of chocolates which was generously shared.

A multi faceted beetle quiz ensued with questions about the insect, the Fab Four, Beetle juice and that famous little car make made famous by “Herbie”!

The joint winners were Ken and Jan Barnes and a tie-break question resulted in Ken winning a bottle of red wine kindly donated by Pete K.

The night was a perfect blend of food, fun, and friendly rivalry, leaving everyone eager for the next club event.
