Social evening sail to polkerris
An early summer sail.
It is often the impromptu get together that lingers on in the mind after the event.
So it turned out to be when Jeremy Hawkins suggested a Friday evening sail to Polkerris for like minded souls.
On a nice evening with a fresh breeze, six boats set off from Porthpean across the bay to Polkerris.
They were joined by a few that were unable to sail but wanted to join in for a pint at The Rashleigh Inn.
Several decided to order food, others had liquid refreshment.
An overiding feeling among all was the conviviality of the setting. Ribold banter was flowing across the tables on the outside patio overlooking the sea.
After an enjoyable interlude it was time for the sailors to pull their boats off the beach and head into the setting sun for Porthpean across the water.
Having set sail earlier at 6.30pm the fleet were safely back on the beach at Porthpean at 9.30pm. A good three hours spent.
I’m sure that given more notice a full flotilla would have invaded Polkerris!
Thank you Jeremy for setting up the Social sail.
