Club Walk Lerryn

After glorious uninterrupted sunshine for well over a week, the weather promised rain for our Lerryn walk!

Sixteen of us plus our furry friends Truffle, Fly, Daisy, Arthur and Maud assembled in Lerryn car park prepared with jackets and boots for our 6km club walk.

We naturally started with a group photo and set off across the medieval bridge and along the creek into the woods, climbing steadily, taking photos, sharing banter, passing an old mill until we back-tracked along the riverbank once more. An earthenware jar containing over 1000 Roman coins dating back to the 3rd Century AD was found near here in 2000!

All of us took our chances on the stepping stones across the river, and all but the dogs remained dry!

We then continued to the Lost Gardens of Tivoli, where we found the old fountain and bandstand built for the Lerryn Regatta and used up until 1968.

Our walk concluded at The Ship Inn where we all enjoyed more great company, fabulous food (despite the wait) and much jovial conversation.

Best of all we stayed dry despite the forecast, the dogs were supremely well behaved, even Truffle and everyone had a fabulous time!
