Club Walk April 2023

The weather was beautiful for our first club walk for 2023.

13 of us plus delightful doggies Truffle, Fly, Pepper, Barney and Sally assembled at the Borough Arms, Dunmere for an 11:00 am start.

We walked part of the Camel Trail, venturing into the woodlands and along the river where some of our furry friends had great fun splashing about.

On the way I treated everyone to some fun facts about the railway, the river and various other snippets of information.

We did a fairly short figure of 8 walk, stopping off briefly at the Camel Trail café where some of the ladies mulled over giftware in the little shop.

After crossing the river for a second time we trekked up to the little village of Nanstallon where we had a brief stop at the church of St Stephen and where I divulged more interesting facts about the Roman Fort remains which had been found there dated c. AD65!

We stopped for several photos along the way and arrived back at the pub around 12:45 for a well earned drink and lunch.

Just for fun I had prepared a mini quiz and can confirm that Pete and Jan had obviously paid most attention to the information along the way! And so there will be a drink on me next Wednesday for them! Looking forward to seeing you all next week in the bar or on the water!
