Fish N Chips Supper

My first social event as Social Secretary and thank goodness I am well organised and have the friendship and support of my wonderful neighbours as well as my new Sailing Club friends!! Having felt poorly for days I decided I ought to test for the dreaded Covid…and sure enough had a positive result on Saturday morning! Anyway, I sprung into action contacting my team of willing helpers, Steve collecting the food order, Val assisting Pete and Jan in the Galley preparing the mushy peas which I’d provided. Tony willingly stepping back into his Social Sec shoes for the evening and I’m told gave a little speech after everyone had tucked in!

I had an interesting time preparing for this event learning what type of oils are used in our local chippies; Francines fry their chips in beef dripping…., maybe tasty but no good for vegetarians! Luckily Holmbush Fish Bar use vegetable oil so they got our business! There was a fabulous turn out as always for this annual event and Stacey thankfully captured the event with his great photos. I was so sorry to miss this event but it looks like all had a fabulous time! Thank you again for the support received! Tony reminded me that he expects me to be present for the next social event- note to self, must try harder!!
