PSC Prizegiving 2022

Wow! What a great turnout for the annual prizegiving ceremonies!

Members arrived from 7pm laded with delicious looking delights for the buffet table which was soon so full, that we had to remove the desserts till later.

After chatting for a little while, and warming up, I made my first tentative club speech, all 45 seconds or so of it!   Having declared the buffet well and truly open, all tucked into the veritable feast!

Sadly, our new Commodore Stacey was unable to attend but at 9 pm, our newly elected Vice, Marcus began the prizegiving awards, helped by Andrew, our Sailing Secretary.

Much jollity followed whilst the very deserving winners in their various categories stepped up for the traditional handshake and occasional embrace from Marcus. Half way through, Alex, our new Rear Commodore took over handing out the awards and more handshakes and laughs ensued.

I truly can’t make any technical comments regarding the sailing that had been enjoyed over the season but what I can say is that everyone is highly enthusiastic about the sport and eager to share their knowledge and expertise with the newbie (that’s me!)

Several trophies were won by some, most notably Jenny and Andrew, Paddy and Steve, Stacey and Clare, Paul and Kelvin, Jeremy and Suzanne and of course Janet and Pete. A massive well done to all the winners, including those who were unable to attend.

Luckily I had asked Clare if she could assist in taking photos, and I hope that between us, we have managed to capture the essence of what was a very successful and enjoyable evening!
